The Tipitina's Foundation seventh annual Instruments A Comin' benefit concert on April 28, at the original Tipitina's Uptown Music Club, will feature the city's musical performers, all of whom are donating their time to support school music programs. The past six benefits have raised more than $1.3 million worth of new instruments for the next generation of New Orleans musicians, but there are still many schools that need assistance. Performances this year include Galactic with Johnny Vidacovich and George Porter Jr., the Radiators, Dragon Smoke (Stanton Moore, Ivan Neville, Eric Lindell and Robert Mercurio), Rebirth Brass Band, Walter "Wolfman" Washington and more.
