Robert Cray Band Releases First Live Recording

I   The Robert Cray band will release its first live recording, Live From Across The Pond on Sept. 12.

This double disc live set was recorded at London's Royal Albert Hall in May and will be released on the singer's new independent label, Nozzle, which Vanguard will distribute.

"Fans have asked us for a live record for a long time," Cray said. "Many attempts have been made, but the seven shows at Royal Albert made it possible to do it right."

Along with this release, Cray will tour North America with Eric Clapton in September and October.

“It was just that suddenly … I could hear it,” Ravi Coltrane said of an epiphany he experienced during his late teens regarding his father’s music. “And it was almost like a calling, like something saying, ‘Hey, man, come on. It’s time to get serious.’ And the first time you really tune in and dial in and focus like that, it can be very life-changing.”
