Reservoir has acquired the publishing and recorded rights of Sonny Rollins. Regarded as one of the most influential jazz musicians of our time, Rollins has recorded more than 60 albums across seven decades, and many of his compositions have become jazz standards, including “St. Thomas,” “Oleo,” “Doxy” and numerous others.

“I’m happy that Reservoir will be helping to maintain my musical legacy, which was created in concert with so many great musicians I’m proud to be associated with,” Rollins said of the colossal signing in a statement released to the press.

Reservoir Vice President of A&R and Marketing David Hoffman added, “Sonny Rollins looms large in music history. His towering achievements speak for themselves, and his profound influence on music and generations of musicians, including myself, cannot be overstated.” DB

“It was just that suddenly … I could hear it,” Ravi Coltrane said of an epiphany he experienced during his late teens regarding his father’s music. “And it was almost like a calling, like something saying, ‘Hey, man, come on. It’s time to get serious.’ And the first time you really tune in and dial in and focus like that, it can be very life-changing.”
