Christian Howes Returns To Ohio For Strings Workshop

I   Violinist Christian Howes will hold his fifth Creative Strings Workshop in Columbus, Ohio, June 29–Aug. 5. The workshop is intended to provide adult students the opportunity to learn from professionals in open jam sessions, clinics and workshops.

“I’m excited to bring a diverse group of innovative string players together in Columbus for the fifth year in a row,” Howes said. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for our international community of progressive string players to come together and a chance for local audiences to enjoy great music in a variety of local venues either at no cost or with affordable cover charges.”

“It was just that suddenly … I could hear it,” Ravi Coltrane said of an epiphany he experienced during his late teens regarding his father’s music. “And it was almost like a calling, like something saying, ‘Hey, man, come on. It’s time to get serious.’ And the first time you really tune in and dial in and focus like that, it can be very life-changing.”
